On the 16th January 2013 Sainsbury’s was granted planning permision to redevelop the Memorial Stadium as part of an agreement that would provide funding for significant investment in sports and education facilities in north Bristol.

Since the beginning of 2012 we have spoken with residents, community groups and local representatives about a proposal that includes a store, housing, community facilities and a Memorial Square.  We would like to them all for their feedback which helped improve the plans.  

This website sets out the original proposal, summarises the community's feedback and shows how the proposal changed in response to people's ideas. 

There is a lot more work to be done but we hope that Sainsbury’s can be open by the end of 2015.
